Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Worst service we have ever experienced! As out of town-ers visiting the area, we decided to try a local pizza shop for dinner. We ordered 3 pizzas each with a different array of toppings to please the appetites of everyone in our group. The woman on the phone, Judy, was very rude and didn't want to help with our order. The price of the pizza was never stated during the call and when the pizza arrived at our house, the cost was $70 dollars for 3 pizzas! We paid the amount and started to wonder about the reasons behind the charges and decided to call and inquire about our order and what we may have done wrong. Instead of customer service, Judy gave attitude right away. We remained very calm explaining that we did not want a refund we just wanted an explanation. The woman hung up on us twice and refused to discuss the dilemma. While their pizza was tasty, and very New York esque.... The service was unacceptable! No one should ever treat a customer the way she did, especially after spending $70 dollars on three pizzas. Safe to say we will NEVER order from their again and we will be telling everyone to steer clear of this rude pizza shop.

To be perfectly honest, I was surprised to see that PizzaWorks wasn't averaging at least a 4 star rating. I've eaten here multiple times over the past few years and have loved it every time! The restaurant itself is small, but just the right atmosphere for a pizza restaurant. They have tables and booths available, so eating in is as easy as taking it out. Their portions are great for the price and everything I've had (from 3 different pizzas to any of the sides) has been delicious. If you're in the mood for a nice New York style pizza that won't put you out much money, I highly recommend checking out The PizzaWorks.

No Good! Ordered a couple pizzas, delivered to us which was nice but pizzas were less than mediocre, no taste, spinach was canned! Sauce had little flavor veggies were soggy, we recommend something else!

Ok, I confess that I do eat pizza while I'm at work. Yes, today I had a working lunch and we ended up getting pizza from Pizzaworks. I didn't have high expectations and told my colleague to "order anything." When I tried the meat pizza, with some spicy chorizo sausage on top, I was pretty impressed. It was your typical NY-style pizza with generous cheeses (mozzarella and cheddar) along with some great spicy sausage hiding amongst the pepperoni and other types of meat .. that was a good surprise. The second pizza that I tried was the vegetarian pizza, which was also quite tasty. High-quality ingredients and the second piece confirmed it. And then I had a couple more just to make sure. Yup, good high-quality ingredients. Pizzaworks is also supposedly doing a lunch special now at the restaurant; I don't know all the details but would recommend the place as a great mid-day meal, if you're up for a slice of the extra-ordinary. Good job, Pizzaworks!

So I have ordered from this place many many times. The food quality is above average. Far from the best I've ever had but certainly not the worst. Tonight however the delivery time was ridiculous. Just about two hours. Ironically, when I called the woman, she told me my delivery was with their "speediest" driver. Ha ha. Not that I care, but the dude showed up in a 30 year old Nissan pick up. It's my fault, if I'm going to order dinner, I should've ordered at lunch. Bye the bye, like I said this is still probably the best pizza locally. Not because it's particularly good, but all the others taste like they came from your grocers freezer. Keep your expectations low enough, you won't be disappointed - I guess.

Food is eh, service is what makes it worse. The workers especially the women who work at this establishment are extremely nasty and could careless if you purchase something from them or not.... I would suggest taking your business elsewhere.

  • Londa L.

Let me preface this by saying that the person working behind the counter kept saying that 2 people called in on him today. First of all the one person working was doing everything busting tables, putting toppings on pizza, taking money with the same 2 dirty hands that he was doing everything else and kept wiping them on the same dirty shorts he was wearing. On top of that he was sweaty! Uhhhh!!!!!!! The pizza was decent... And the one guy was nice but I enjoyed the pizza in key west at duettos better.

Had a specialty pizza delivered while on vacation. Although the pizza was OK, it was over priced for what it was - almost $30 with tip. We live in Connecticut and I'm not going to argue over types of pizza and who makes what better. I just expected more flavor and the cost to be a few dollars less even prior to delivery charge and tip. Probably would have enjoyed a plan ole cheese just as well. If you want a pizza and don't have exceptionally high standards this place is OK. Save a few bucks and pick it up too.

OK, people, let's all regroup: if you're on vacation in the Keys, you should know that one, things cost more down here, and that means restaurants pay more for everything they buy. Two, you don't come to the Keys for the best pizza you will ever eat. If you want a local dining experience, go order some snapper. Just expect to pay more than you will for a pizza. Probably some of the better pizza we've had in the Keys. We didn't feel like dropping $70 on dinner, so we opted for a pizza. A small was the size of large back home (easily 16", and home is the southwest coast of Florida ), and cheese-only cost $12. Sauce was a little sweet for my taste, and if you're from New York, you'll hate it. But then, if you're from New York, you'll hate all non-NY pizza. Go order fish. Everyone else, this pizzeria does a great job without breaking the bank, which is a lovely change when in the Keys. The staff was friendly (we ordered the pizza as takeout) and the pizza was hot and ready when they said it would be.

My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch while in Big Pine Key and we both enjoyed the lunch special which was two slices of cheese and a fountain drink for $6. (My hubby added sausage to his for 50¢.) We were greeted promptly when we entered the restaurant and the server took our order and got us on our way quickly (we took it to go). The slices were huge and hot and delicious! We felt like it was a great value for the money and would definitely go back and recommend to others. The only thing that could have been improved was if the chef had been wearing gloves as he prepared the food.

Ok, the food is really good, the staff is excellent, I would give this place 5 stars without hesitation, however!!!!! Don't EVER get caught sitting on the bench outside or the owner will call the police on you. Despite a law in the Florida keys requiring stores to give free cups of ice if requested, she still charges, and don't ever show up there if you didn't just take a shower because she thinks anyone who hasn't showered in the last hour must be homeless. For a month straight, my fiancé and I ate there almost every day (which is something you couldn't afford if you are homeless), and then we had the displeasure of meeting her on one of her routine checks of the store. We had been working all day in 90°+ weather, so we were a little sweaty, and she told us we were not allowed to sit on her bench despite the fact that we had a pizza box in our hands. She then told us if she found us on it again she would call the police. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere from now on!

I came here and felt like trying some pasta, and I made the mistake of ordering alfredo. I was disappointed-- although their portions were generous... the food itself was less than impressive. The pasta was dry and flavorless. However, I liked the garlic bread. Perhaps I should re-evaluate when I actually try their pizza...

They do have excellent pizza, honestly some of the best I have ever had but their employees leave more to be desired. I have eaten there on a number of occasions and hardly ever are their employees friendly or even cordial. One time I was picking up a take out pizza and the employee actually snapped her fingers at me to hurry up when I couldn't pull my credit card out of my wallet fast enough to pay. When you call to place an order they place you on hold without even saying "Hello would you please hold" and they have no hold music so you think you got hung up on. I once kept calling back over and over and after about 4 calls I finally realized that I wasn't being hung up on or being disconnected but that they were placing me on hold with no warning. I know it is one of the only good pizza places in the keys but I almost want to stop going there because I am sick of being treated so poorly. I hope the owner reads this review and lights a fire under the butt of his employees because sir, if your employees keep acting like this they are driving away your business.

Okay, so the Florida Keys is not world-renowned for their pizza, and the pizza at PizzaWorks probably isn't going to change that reputation. But the Florida Keys is also not world-renowned for their customer service, and THAT is something PizzaWorks *does* deserve props for. The employees there are friendly, helpful, and professional. (Thanks, Ian, for helping me with my special Father's Day delivery!) The pizza varies from average to a little above, and is thankfully not over-priced (for the Keys, that is!) ***Bonus points: PizzaWorks stocks a wide variety of Key West Key Lime Pie Factory pies in assorted sizes and flavors, including the sinful chocolate-dipped pie-slice-on-a-stick (yes, really!) Multiple locals have confirmed that Key West Key Lime Pie Factory makes, far-and-away, the BEST commercially-available key lime pies ANYWHERE, and PizzaWorks won't charge you an arm and a leg for them. This place is relatively new, and I think some of the worse reviews are from when they were still ironing out their new-business kinks, based on discussions with locals. At this point I think it's safe to say, if you're looking to combine decent pizza at a fair price with a taste of truly authentic key lime pie, PizzaWorks fits the bill.

25 minutes to get one slice of cheese pizza & a soda...seriously? Walked out with nothing. No more Pizzaworks for me.

  • J T.

This is a pizza joint. Service was fine. You know why its 5 stars? No, its not because I'm on the road and everything has a slight patina of "betterness." I compensate for that in these reviews. The reason its 5 stars is for one thing only - damn fine pizza: + Crust... check + Sauce... double check - outstanding = really nice spice combination + Crust to everything else ratio... check + Toppings... done exactly right. You sir, are an artist! Oh yeah, its in the keys, service was fine... chill a little.

***Pizza approved by a native NYer!*** I'm from NY so moving to the Keys was hard because none of the pizza was even remotely up to NY standard. Too much cheese, too little cheese, crust was never right, sauce was always wrong. And they always tried to give their pizza restaurants a "Keysy" feel. Pizza Works is now my favorite place to go for a quick bite. The pizza is superb and I feel like I'm back in NY, after almost 3 years of searching for edible pizza. The crust, cheese, and sauce are amazing, perfect I dare say. But unlike NY, the prices are very reasonable! I always get their 2 slices and a soda for $6!! Only $6?! And the atmosphere is very NY Pizza restaurant. First time I came here there was a dad with his two kids, and another booth with some pre-teens pooling money to order a medium. It may not look like much from outside, or to a tourist, but this is one of my favorite places to eat from Marathon to Key West.
